Students in grades 4 – 8 use technology for much of their class work. They learn keyboarding skills with computer programs. They learn spelling words and take spelling tests on the web page, Spelling City. They utilize the computers to learn math and reading using the Success Maker program. We use “clickers” to record answers to their math problems and get immediate feedback telling them if they are right or wrong. We also use the clickers to take exams. Clickers are being used successfully in all areas of education. Teachers find that students are more engaged in the lessons and the immediate feedback allows for intervention when necessary. For an in-depth story of the use of clickers go to NPR.org and search for clickers. The teacher uses an iPanel and Mobi in teaching classes. The technology-rich environment helps students to grow and learn skills that will be helpful in the future.
